My German garden gnome

If you’re German, and you want to give a going away present to your American friend, you may be dismayed to learn that bratwurst doesn’t pack well. So how about a garden gnome?

Inspired by Amélie, my German friend is passing these gnomes out to friends and asking them – I mean, asking the gnome, ahem – to take pictures of places that they travel and send postcards. She was happy to hear that he made it through customs and did not get sick on the plane.

Have you ever been part of a Flat Stanley/Gartenzwerg travel adventure? Where did you take your photographs?

  1. I love Amélie! Great idea!

I’ve never been part of anything like this, but I did read Flat Stanley in primary school (just clicked on your link and there seem to be about 50 Flat Stanley books now! when did that happen?!)
