Against our better judgment, we took a tour of the mysterious labyrinth underneath the city in Buda. It was dark and smelly. Occasionally we were rewarded with some kind of a recreation of an historic…thing. Everything was labeled in Hungarian. There was a recording of chanting monks piped into different chambers. Here is a summary of what we saw:
Maybe something more interesting goes on in the labyrinth during the week – if it was there, we failed to catch it.
After leaving that strangeness, we emerged took pictures of things in the -wait for it – yes. The sun. Big improvement over the labyrinth.

It’s hard not to fall in love with the architecture in Buda. We also wandered into some cool sights on the Pest side.
We loved Budapest, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about it. Maybe next time we’ll go there when it’s above freezing outside.
