Spring, is that you?

The sun came out today! In fact, it’s almost 1 p.m. and it’s still out. Maybe I’m dreaming?

I went outside to get some reading done for a book club meeting on Saturday. We’re reading Berlin Diaries, and it’s both fascinating and chilling. It’s the diary of a Russian woman living in Germany during World War II. One particular sentence that resonated with me:

“I feel often ashamed and frustrated at not being more deeply involved in something really worthwhile, but what can I, as a foreigner, do?”

Granted, she’s discussing a completely different situation, but I do think it’s a good summary of the ups and downs of daily life here. Looking forward to continuing on with the book and enjoying the nice weather, however long it chooses to last.

Any other book recommendations out there?
