We’ve clearly slipped into autumn here in Bielefeld, so it seems like as good a time as any to share some sunny photos from an excursion just a few weeks ago. One Saturday morning, we took the tram to Schildesche, a small town at the end of the tram line. Every year, there is a huge flea market and carnival.
In a surprising turn of events, what I ended up taking the most photos of was this beautiful old church. Construction of the church dates from 939 (no, that’s not a typo). Part of it collapsed in the early 1800s and was rebuilt, and you can see the mix of old and new materials on the structure.
